Start With the Core Guides

A Better Order for Improving Your Resume

  1. Clarify the target Decide which role family and level the resume needs to support. A document aimed at everything usually makes weak arguments for each individual job.
  2. Fix the evidence Replace duty-heavy bullets with examples that show contribution, scale, methods, decisions, and results.
  3. Align the language Translate internal terminology and use recognizable job titles, tools, skills, certifications, and methods when they truthfully apply.
  4. Simplify the format Use a clear reading order, standard headings, ordinary text, and enough white space for both parsing and human review.
  5. Tailor the emphasis Reorder and select evidence for the specific role rather than rewriting your history or copying the posting.
  6. Run the final check Verify accuracy, contact information, dates, file readability, spelling, and alignment before submitting.

What These Guides Will Not Recommend

Fake ATS hacks

No hidden white text, copied job descriptions, invented skills, or claims that one arbitrary score guarantees an interview.

Empty personal branding

Adjectives such as strategic and innovative should be supported by decisions, work, and outcomes.

One rule for every career

Resume length, section order, and emphasis depend on experience, target, industry, and the evidence available.
