Repeated Phrases Worth Reviewing
Multi-word phrases often reveal the employer's preferred language more clearly than individual words.
Do not copy the posting blindly. A skill belongs in your resume only when you have actually used it. The strongest placement is usually inside a bullet that shows how you used it and what happened.
How to Use Missing Terms
- Confirm the term is relevant to the role. Job postings contain legal language, benefits, and generic company copy that do not belong in your resume.
- Decide whether you truly have the experience. A scanner cannot determine whether a missing term reflects an actual gap or merely different wording.
- Place the term where the evidence lives. Show the tool, method, or capability in the bullet or project where you used it.
- Prepare to discuss it. Anything added for keyword alignment should be something you can explain clearly in an interview.
